Geometric Forms in Pencil Value

Composition is the arrangement of elements on a format.

Good composition takes time and thought.

ASSIGNMENT:

Draw a geometric shape. Use pencil value to make the 2-D shape into a 3-D form. Begin with a circle, square rectangle, triangle.

STEPS:

1. Use model to draw geometric SHAPE.
2. Use ebony pencil to shape/model shape.

Determine light source. Darkest values are furthest away from light.
Use gradient values to make 2D shape appear 3D

3. Draw different forms from shapes... circle/sphere, rectange/box or cylinder, square/cube, pyramid/cone.
