What is repoussé?
Repoussé is an ancient form of metalwork. It consists of taking a piece of sheet metal, tracing a picture into the metal with tools. The whole technique is called embossing.
Repoussé is a method of creating a design by pressing the reverse side of a metal surface. Literal meaning of repoussé – French “to push back”
