Initials in Metal Relief

ASSIGNMENT:

 Using your initials, design a font (serif or sans serif) for a name plate of tagboard and aluminum foil.

STEPS:

Plate Design
1. Draw plans - shapes, letters
2. Cut out background, beginning with lowest level.
3. Glue shape to base then letters.
4. Cut out and glue details/decorations for letters
Cover Plate with Aluminum
1. Apply glue to aluminum (glue stick)
2. Place plate face down on aluminum.
3. Carefully wrap sides to back.
4. Carefully force aluminum down to front of plate and into corners and edges.
Use Permanent Markers to Add Color

 Format design (work in layers)
 Metal surface (textures)
