The Human Eye

ASSIGNMENT:

Draw a realistic human eye.

STEPS:

1. Sketch outline lightly
a. top line in more rounded
b. don’t point the corners
2. Make a circular iris
a. it should be partly covered by eyelid
3. Add the circular pupil
a. it must be in the center of the iris.
4. Look for the highlight.
a. Do not outline it in black
5. Study your upper eyelashes to see how they grow
a. Long? Short? Notice spacing. Where do they attach?
6. Concentrate on the lower eyelid
a. Find the thin flat “shelf”
b. Notice where lower lashes attach.
7. See a line above your eye where the eyelid folds back? (not everyone has this)
a. Make sure you don’t attach it to the corners.
8. Study your eyebrow
a. Use a sharp pencil to draw each hair. Don’t outline it.

Correct size 10 pts
All parts Including shading:
iris, pupil, upper and lower lashes, highlight 50 pts
Circular iris and pupil - pupil in center of iris) 20 pts
Shading 15 pts
Eyebrow (not outlined) 5 pts
