Appleworks Paint Program
Surreal Hallway

ASSIGNMENT:

Use Appleworks paint program to create a surreal hallway.

GRADING:

 Creativity/imagination
 Use of tools
 composition

STEPS:

1. Open a Paint document in Appleworks.
2. Select rectangle tool and draw small rectangle near center of page. Use paintbrush tool to add vanishing point (VP).
3. Select line tool. Draw lines from  vanishing point  through corners of the rectangle to the edge of the paper.
4. Use the line tool to include the following:
   • A hallway intersecting the main hall.
   • A window on a side wall.
   • A checkboard pattern.
5. Under File,  pull down to Show Clippings. Insert clipart for surreal effect. You may also use the tools to draw surreal effects.

GRADING

• Accurate perspective
• A wall, door or window at the end of the hallway.
• A hallway intersecting the main hall.
• A window on a side wall.
• A checkerboard pattern.
• Surrealis

Note: these examples do not have the surrealism included.
