Victorian House

ASSIGNMENT:

Design and build a clay slab Victorian era house.

STEPS:

 DAY 1 - prepare basic house shape

 Make paper template
 Use template to cut clay slab parts
 Store stacked, flat clay pieces in bin.

 DAY 2 - Roof, foundation, joining

 Make impressions on  clay for:  roof (shingle pattern), foundation )brick, stone, lattice)
 Join clay by scoring and slipping

 DAY 3 - Add ons

 Windows, doors, steps, balcony, porch, dormer or bay windows, tower, turret, decorative molding and trim

 GRADE 1:

 Basic structure
 Roof
 Foundation

  GRADE 2:

 Windows and doors
 Extras – balcony, porch, tower, turret, bay or dormer windows, decorative molding and trim.
